Wedding Plans

Going to the Chapel and I'm gonna get married! Wow! I didn't realize how much work goes into pulling a Fall wedding together. In planning the wedding, Russell and I are keeping the wedding small (in Savannah, GA) and the reception Huge!! (in Franklin,TN) The beauty of all of this is when God is in this and He is - blessings overflow!!!

My dress is so pretty and what makes it even more beautiful is a dear friend of mine bought it for me. She went with me to go "dress shop" and decided along with the others in the store that we had found "the dress." Amanda, my friend and sister from college days, is singing in the wedding! She has the most beautiful voice! My new friend Latric is making the cake for the reception. She's been a long time listener of Doug and Kim and wanted to give us this incredible gift! I am telling you, Ace of Cakes has nothing on her - she makes the most beautiful cakes!!! My good friend Todd ,who owns a Chick-fil-a, is catering my reception as his gift to us!!!! Wait there is more! Charlotte a long time friend, who is also in radio and is an incredible jazz singer is singing our first dance!! And Douglas' gift to us is DJ-ing the reception!!! We are going to have a blast!!! Chicken dance and all!!

So many details taken care of and we are truly thankful!!! All of this is an incredible reminder to me that God cares about each and every detail of your life and of mine!!! As my Grandmother (who I called Bam Bam) used to sing over the kitchen sink, washing her dishes -"Count your blessings name them one by one, Count your blessings see what God has done!"

Looking forward to Father/Son Bonding

One of the things that we talked about on the show has really stuck with me - "Plan some fun - and then look forward to it" .. It's so hard to plan time off, we seem to just take what we can find - at the last minute - and what we end up doing is (sometimes) limited by our lack of planning. Well - I've been very much looking forward to the weekend of Aug 16th - That's the weekend before Garic's 10th birthday and it's a Father/Son Road Trip weekend - We're headed to see our favorite baseball team (the SF GIANTS!!!) defeat the Atlanta Braves - at Turner Field. I've never been to Atlanta and I'm looking forward to yelling for the visitors and wearing all of our Giants Stuff! (Garic even wants to paint his face!) After the Saturday night game, we're going to the Coca-Cola museum - which should be a blast! Since I didn't grow up with a dad - I want to make sure I give him some good father/son memories ...
SO - do you have planned time off?

WHY NOT? - Plan it, then look forward it to - then enjoy it!
